This policy outlines some of the key measures that Time For You have taken to reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus (COVID-19). Time For You has carried out a full risk assessment and we adhere to COVID-19 guidelines produced by the Government, the NHS and the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists).  Please note the content may be subject to change at any time.

Following Government advice, Time For You can remain open.

At this time if you are “clinically extremely vulnerable”, then you must seek consent from your GP/Consultant/Midwife before an appointment can take place with Time For You. As COVID-19 is a novel virus and the Government is concerned about the impact it may have on people placed in the “clinically extremely vulnerable” category, Time For You requires you to seek consent from the medical professional responsible for your health. Written or verbal consent should be obtained. If consent is obtained verbally, then you must sign and date a statement on your Treatment Plan, confirming you have obtained verbal consent. If you have tried to obtain consent but have been unsuccessful and you are “clinically extremely vulnerable”, then we strongly advise against treatment at this time.  If treatment is declined by Time For You, please respect the decision of the Practitioner and that this decision is to protect your health and safety and to minimise the risk of infection. Time For You has undertaken a “Health, Safety and Hygiene – Returning to work COVID-19 Course”.   All data sheets for all treatment and cleaning products are available on request.

Time For You will…

Ensure I am in good health before I arrive at your home to perform your treatment, but if I develop symptoms on route to your appointment, I will call immediately to defer your treatment.

Take your temperature with an infrared thermometer before your treatment commences.  This temperature along with my temperature will be recorded on your COVID-19 questionnaire.  If either temperature was elevated, we will immediately reschedule your appointment and I will vacate your property with immediate effect.

Provide access to an official NHS QR code so that you have the option to scan the code and “check in”. Time For You will complete a track and trace log (unless you decide to “opt out”.  Your name, appointment details and length of treatment will be logged.  These details are kept for 21 days and then securely disposed of.

Follow guidelines on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  PPE will be freshly applied (face mask) before I enter your home and only removed once I have left your property.

Wash hands or use hand sanitiser before your treatment commences and immediately after your treatment has concluded.

Disinfect non-porous materials, e.g. massage table, face cradle and seated acupressure chair after each treatment with disinfectant and antibacterial cleaner.

Bag all linen and wash porous materials e.g. table covers, towels, fleecy rugs and pillowcases after each client.

Use disposable items where possible ie face cradle covers, headbands and spatulas.

Ensure where possible social distancing before and after the treatment.

Defer treatments if the NHS Test and Trace service contacts me to say I have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or if I test positive for COVID-19 and I will defer seeing clients until it is safe to do so.

Ask you to attend your appointment on you own, if possible, unless you are under the age of 16 or a vulnerable client.

Prior to your treatments you will be asked to…

Wear a face covering for your massage.  In England, the Government’s advice from 8 August 2020 is that face coverings are mandatory.  Please wear a face covering, whilst I enter the property, during set up and for your medical consultation and post massage.  Please note that you can ONLY remove your face covering when I have left the room (pre and post massage) and when you are lying face down on either the massage couch or the seated acupressure chair or if you are medically exempt from wearing one for medical reasons.  If you require a face mask please let me know before I arrive at your property and I will place a face mask in your letterbox in a sealed clear package when arriving at the property. Please note that there is NO additional cost for this.  Please advise at the time of booking if you require a face mask.

Complete a short COVID-19 questionnaire, in addition to the questions already on your treatment plan.  On this form I will log yours and my temperature.

Contact me to re-schedule your appointment if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, or if any person in your household has symptoms or is self-isolating, (cancellation fees will be waived for COVID cases. You will be able to reschedule your appointment when it is safe to resume your treatment.

Advise to the Practitioner if you have recently travelled abroad.  You may need to defer your treatment, but this will depend on infection rates in that country or whether you have had to self isolate on your return of your holiday.

Ventilate the treatment room if possible by opening a window or door.

Tie back long hair and remove all jewellery, please note that it is still permissible to wear a wedding band.

Please have your own tissue ready, if your nose does have a tendency to run during a treatment (this is quite a common occurrence during treatment, as it is a sign of the body detoxing).

Attend your appointment on your own and ensure other members of your household and pets are in another area of your home.

Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before your treatment commences.

Provide your own water for after your treatment.

Have available a clean hand washing area for me to access.  I will provide my own antibacterial soap and paper towels.

Before, During and after your treatment…

Please be aware of other symptoms, like raised temperature, headaches, aches, pains, rashes, fatigue and a sore throat. If you are concerned please seek medical advice if you are concerned.

If the NHS Test and Trace service contacts you to say you have been in close contact with someone in the past 14 days who has COVID-19, you must follow NHS guidance and defer your treatment until it is safe to do so.

If you or if anyone in your household or support bubble have any symptoms of COVID-19, or are waiting for a COVID-19 test result or have tested positive for COVID-19, please defer your treatment until it is safe to do so.

If you have had COVID-19, but are now well and no longer need to self-isolate, please seek verbal or written permission from your GP before you have your treatment.

Please ensure social distancing before and after your treatment.

Please pay by card or other cashless method, where possible, (contactless limit is now £45.00).  Please note that there is NO extra charge for using the card machine.  If you choose to pay by cash, please place the correct cash into a new envelope to avoid further handling, or if you wish to pay by BACS, please request these details prior to your appointment, thank you.

You will be provided with your usual aftercare advice, but in the event that you are notified that you have come into contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 or if you develop any symptoms of COVID-19 you must contact myself immediately to discuss.

As a Therapist I am fully aware of your concerns during this uncertain time and I fully respect people’s anxieties around others entering your home during this time.  If you have any concerns please discuss these with me or any aspects of your treatment, prior to making an appointment.
